The presidential election is big, but there’s a greater election that God-fearing citizens should be concerned with- their own!
You may not be running for president, but if you’ve trusted in Jesus as your personal lord and savior, you’ve been called to a high office.
You’ve been called to “walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). You’ve been pre-appointed “to be conformed to the image of his Son” (Romans 8:29). It’s a high calling, and it ought to be pursued with as much fervor as any presidential candidate puts out.
Yet many believers will not take their office. They are not running in such a way as to win the prize (1Corinthians 9:24). The presidential candidates run to win power. Many believers live powerlessly because they fail to run.
