Getting Away from the City

On a recent trip to the countryside, I once again marveled at the beauty of the scenery. Something is actually lifted when you break away from the rut and riot of the city.

There are two cities in the book of Revelation. One is described as a harlot, Babylon. The other is described as a bride, the New Jerusalem. Imagine the lifting away of all the corruption of Babylon (which represents the world system) and entering into the glory and bliss of the New Jerusalem (God's kingdom manifest on earth).

If there is glory in a beautiful environment on this fallen earth, just think about the untainted and unvarnished glory that is yet to be revealed when Christ returns!
