Can You Lose Your Salvation?

Can you lose your salvation? Some say yes, and some say no. I think they're both wrong. The church has made this more difficult than it should be.

Salvation is through faith, and because of grace, God will never drop you. Never fear- If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1John 2:1). This is the good news of the Gospel! Jesus is a perfect Savior, and no matter how bad his people mess up, he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25)!

However, believers can, like the prodigal son, choose to turn away. They can make their own decision to renounce their faith. They can crucify again the Son of God (Hebrews 6:6). In that case, there is no more salvation.

But it is never an issue of fearing that you are going to cross the line by accident and God is finished with you. That's the good news. Grace is always sufficient to cover you. God's love never fails. All you need to do is continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard (Colossians 1:23). As Smith Wigglesworth once remarked on this, "Keep believing and you will land."
